REEL announces the acquisition of Alesa, specialists in the design, installation and maintenance of complex handling equipment designed primarily for the aluminum industry. With around a hundred engineers in Switzerland, Canada and France, Alesa, operating under the name REEL Alesa, joins the Reel organization, bringing with it a high level of complementary technical skills and commercial synergies. This acquisition is an important strategic movement for the Group, allowing us to develop into a major player in the supply of equipment to the aluminum industry.
The operation involves the acquisition of the holding company RTA Alesa AG (a Swiss company with headquarters in Zurich), which itself owns RTA Alesa Ltd (a Canadian company with headquarters in Montreal) and Alesa Technologies SAS (a French company with headquarters in Gardanne).
Through its subsidiary NKM Noell Special Cranes, Reel already offers lifting and handling equipment & associated services for aluminum production plants. The acquisition of Alesa will allow the Group to increase its strength in the aluminum field, as well as improving its visibility.
For more than 40 years Alesa has been designing, installing and maintaining complex handling solutions and other made-to-measure equipment, mainly designed for the aluminum industry but also for the energy sectors, mining, cement, steel and fertilizers.
Renowned for its ability to design made-to-measure solutions, responding to complex constraints, Alesa is a leading player in the equipment market for the aluminum industry. Beyond its high levels of experience in this type of project, Alesa provides its clients with a wide portfolio of proven technologies in the world of aluminum that are unique to Alesa, notably in supplying aluminum electrolysis tanks, accompanied by the exclusive rights to the use of technology developed by Aluminum Pechiney.
REEL and Alesa share several key factors for success, making future integration easier: a closely linked culture (managing major projects, a strong culture of engineering, de-centralized activity management, etc.), knowledge of the same market environment, a worldwide network providing local accessibility and responsiveness to the needs of its clients.
REEL wishes you a happy new year 2023!
